Burnout & Stress Counselling in Vancouver
Burnout can make rest feel unproductive and work feel endless. You may be functioning, but only through urgency, guilt or the fear of letting someone down. Burnout counselling in Vancouver can help you look at what is driving that pace and what a more sustainable one might be.
Eventually the system that kept everything moving starts to cost too much.
External demands and internal rules
Burnout counselling can help separate external demands from internal rules such as “I should be able to handle this” or “If I stop, everything will fall apart.” Appointments may look at boundaries, recovery, values, perfectionism, people-pleasing and the conditions that keep pushing you past your limits. For example, you might map out a typical week to see where the demands actually come from, notice which ones you take on out of guilt, try one boundary, such as not answering work messages after a set time, and then talk about how it went.
Stress counselling before it becomes burnout
You do not need to be fully burnt out to reach out. Stress counselling can help when pressure from work, caregiving, school or finances has started to show up as poor sleep, irritability, tension headaches, racing thoughts or dreading the week ahead. Appointments may look at where the stress is coming from, what you can realistically change, and practical ways to calm your body and mind in the moments that tend to tip you over.
The goal is not to optimize you for more output
It is to work out what a sustainable pace looks like in your actual life. That includes recovery: what rest really looks like for you, and changes you can keep up rather than a short burst of self-care before the next crunch. Burnout often overlaps with anxiety, depression and relationship stress; the plan can account for all of it.
