Online Counselling in Vancouver

Getting support should not require adding another commute to a full day. Online counselling lets clients in Vancouver meet with Mandeep by secure video from a private room at home or work.

Who online counselling works well for

Virtual sessions can work well for people with demanding schedules, mobility or transportation barriers, caregiving responsibilities or long commutes. Some people also find it easier to begin a difficult conversation from familiar surroundings.

What you need

A stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private place where you will not be overheard or interrupted. Headphones help keep the conversation private. If home is not private, some people use a closed office or a parked car.

How sessions and privacy work

Online appointments are available for individual counselling and, where appropriate, couples counselling. Sessions take place on a secure video platform. Before your first online session, Mandeep explains how it works, its privacy limits, and what happens if the call drops or a safety concern comes up. The same expectations around consent and confidentiality apply as in person.

Booking online counselling in Vancouver

Start by booking the free 15-minute consultation through Jane, the practice’s online booking system. The call can be by phone, video or in person, and evening appointments are offered. Online counselling is available by secure video for clients in Vancouver; the free call is where to ask about your location. Many people use both formats, so if you think you may want some appointments in person in Vancouver, raise that during the call as well.

When online is not the right choice

Online counselling does not suit every situation, for example when there is nowhere private to talk, when a steady connection is hard to get, or when someone may be at immediate risk. The free consultation helps decide whether online, in-person or a different kind of support makes more sense. If you are in crisis, call or text 9-8-8, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are weighing the two formats, comparing online and in-person counselling may help you decide.
