Individual Counselling in Vancouver
You may look capable on the outside while dealing with a level of worry, pressure or exhaustion that few people see. Individual counselling in Vancouver with Mandeep is one-to-one time where you do not have to perform, protect anyone else or arrive with the right words.
Who individual counselling is for
Individual counselling at Dear Therapy in Vancouver is for people who want one-to-one time to work on something that is affecting their day-to-day life. People come in about anxiety, depression and low mood, trauma, burnout, grief, self-esteem, boundaries, a relationship they want to think through on their own, or a major life transition. You do not need a clear label for what is going on. Many people start with “something feels off and I want to understand it.”
What the first appointment is like
Before anything is booked, the free 15-minute call lets you describe what is going on and ask practical questions. The first counselling appointment is then a conversation with Mandeep about what brought you in, what feels most pressing, any history you choose to share and what you hope might change. You can ask questions, pause or say when something does not sit right. It is not a diagnostic assessment; it is a starting point for deciding together how to work.
How goals are discussed
Early on, you and Mandeep talk through what you would like to be different, in your own words: sleeping without replaying the day, saying no without guilt, or making a decision you keep putting off. She draws on more than one approach and chooses what fits the person, so some appointments may be mostly reflection and others more practical, with strategies to try in between. Goals are revisited as you go. You can say what is helping, what is not, and whether the focus should change.
